The Berliner Philharmoniker’s exclusive edition presents the nine symphonies with outstanding Bruckner interpreters.
Anton Bruckner’s symphonies, with their primal energy, beauty and sublime architecture, form a very unique cosmos of sound of overwhelming effect. This music has been part of the artistic identity of the Berliner Philharmoniker for over a hundred years. The orchestra presents the nine symphonies in an exclusive edition with outstanding Bruckner interpreters of our time: Herbert Blomstedt, Bernard Haitink, Mariss Jansons, Paavo Järvi, Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa, Sir Simon Rattle and Christian Thielemann.
The edition is now being released in a new value-for-money version on nine CDs/SACDs in a high-quality slipcase. It enables playback with the best CD sound or – when used as an SACD – in high-resolution audio quality as well as in surround sound.
The comprehensive booklet contains an essay by the renowned music researcher Richard Taruskin plus portraits of the conductors, introductions to the individual symphonies and numerous photos.
