Stefan Pop – Verdi Arias
The great Stefan Pop takes you on a journey through the Italian opera world of Verdi.
Winner of the prestigious Operalia Award, Ștefan Pop is one of the outstanding tenors of our time and is known for his performances in the Italian repertoire, which ranges from bel canto to Verdi and Puccini.
The powerful-voiced tenor now presents his first solo album, which comprises some of his favourite Verdi arias. He wants to dedicate it to the next generation of singers – and show them that anything is possible.
The carefully curated compilation of arias on this album provides a musical cross-section of Verdi's compositional complexity. Together with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille under the direction of Lawrence Foster, Ștefan Pop succeeds in impressively depicting Verdi's artistic maturation process in his middle creative phase.
