A musical collaboration in which there was always room for freedom and spontaneity: for decades, the Berliner Philharmoniker enjoyed a partnership with Seiji Ozawa that was both artistically and personally rewarding.

The carefully prepared recordings are presented in a hardcover edition. The accompanying book contains original contributions by Ozawa’s friend and author Haruki Murakami, his daughter Seira Ozawa, and the Berlin journalist Frederik Hanssen. It also includes numerous previously unpublished photos by orchestra member Gustav Zimmermann, providing an intimate insight into their work together.
