Bat Out Of Hell flies into cinemas at Halloween
Stagescreen's new film of the huge hit show 'Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical' will be released in cinemas in the UK and elsewhere at Halloween.
Good news for Meat Loaf fans! Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical, the Best Musical award-winning show which has been a massive hit in London's West End and elsewhere, has been filmed by Stagescreen Ltd this summer and is coming to cinemas in the UK and beyond with a release timed to co-incide with Halloween.
It features many of the great hits that made the Bat Out Of Hell album the biggest selling rock album ever, all written by Jim Steinman, who also wrote the musical's book and lyrics. This is no juke-box show - the musical was written first and the songs were then used separately, becoming huge hits. Tracks like Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad, Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Dead Ringer For Love, You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth, I'd Do Anything for Love (but I Won't Do That), and many others including of course Bat Out Of Hell are given rocking renditions by a charismatic and energetic cast, with music supervision by Michael Reed, Steinman's long-time friend and collaborator.
The plot is a Romeo and Juliet story spiced up with elements of Peter Pan - lead character Strat and his gang The Lost are frozen at age 18 by a chemical spill from the factories of tyrannical industrialist Falco. Falco's daughter Raven and Strat fall for each other, to Falco's fury.... and events unfold. Stage director is the eminent Jay Schaub, also award-nominated for his work on this show.
The film was directed by Chris Hunt, many of whose long list of awards are for his screen versions of stage musicals, and produced by him and Derek Nelson.
