Bach's St John Passion with Andrea Marcon
Bach's St John Passion with Andrea Marcon and La Cetra Barockorchester live from Aix-en-Provence.
The annual performance of a Bach Passion is always a highlight of the Festival de Pâques in beautiful Aix-en-Provence. This year's fiercely dramatic and intense St John Passion, first heard on Good Friday 300 years ago, has caught special attention.
Renowned Baroque specialist Andrea Marcon conducted a performance with the La Cetra Barockorchester Basel and the La Cetra Vocal Ensemble, featuring an outstanding line-up of soloists.
La Cetra is one of the leading Baroque orchestras in the world, owing its dynamic development above all to the award-winning harpsichordist and conductor Andrea Marcon, under whose musical direction the orchestra has been since 2009.
