ARTE live at the Aix-en-Provence festival 2021

08 JULY 2021: ARTE is pleased to present three opera productions live from Aix-en-Provence this year, including a world premiere.

The greatest singers, orchestras and conductors are at home in Aix-en-Provence. This year ARTE presents two classics of opera literature and a world premiere: "Tristan und Isolde" by Richard Wagner under the musical direction of Sir Simon Rattle and Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock. The world premiere of Kaija Saariaho's "Innocence" under the musical direction of Finnish conductor Susanna Mälkki is also eagerly awaited. A sweeping choral drama for soloists, choir and orchestra, and a contemporary tragedy full of powerful music and words that blend the languages of the world.
