The comic operetta "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein, directed by the multi-award-winning American Lydia Steier and led by the chief conductor of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and Bernstein student Marin Alsop, continues in Halle E in the MuseumsQuartier until 3 February.

Meanwhile, the tango opera "María de Buenos Aires" by Astor Piazzolla is in the final rehearsal phase. Stage director Juana Inés Cano Restrepo makes her debut in the Kammeroper and emancipates the character of María (sung by Luciana Mancini) as a strong fighter against experiences of violence. The ensemble folksmilch has taken up the cause of overcoming all stylistic boundaries and creates a sound that is both authentic and excitingly new. If you would like to get an impression of the piece before the premiere on 12 February, you are welcome to come to the introductory matinee on 4 February at 11am in the Kammeroper.

The ensemble folksmilch can be experienced in the late night "Palermo" on 24 February at 9pm in the Kammeroper with a programme ranging from Mozart to Lehár to Michael Jackson.

Charles Gounod's "Roméo et Juliette" celebrates its premiere on 23 February at 7pm in Halle E in the MuseumsQuartier with Mélissa Petit and Julien Behr in the title roles, conducted by the Ukrainian Kirill Karabits.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at +43 (0)1 58885-111, or at the box offices located in the MuseumsQuartier | Halle E and the Wien Ticket Pavillon next to the Vienna State Opera.
