Yojo Christen
Pianist Yojo Christen performs Liszt and Beethoven in Munich and talks about his unique approach to their works.
The pianist Yojo Christen used the lockdown during the Corona pandemic to work on two of the greatest piano concertos in music literature - Franz Liszt's B minor Sonata and Ludwig van Beethoven's "Hammerklavier Sonata". For him, these two pieces represent the epitome of music and transport the performer and his listeners into a world that is "crazy" in the truest sense of the word. The concerts were recorded in the early summer of 2021 in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz. In an interview, Yojo Christen talks about his approach to the pieces and the background to the recordings.
This title, among other ORF music & performing arts highlights, will be presented at the upcoming Avant Première Music + Media Market 2023.
