One of our June production highlights is the concert from the Waldbühne Berlin, which was an unforgettable evening and Berlin's first big event after the Covid restrictions.
The Berliner Philharmoniker, conductor & pianist Wayne Marshall and percussionist Martin Grubinger welcomed the audience to a long-awaited concert with American rhythms and works by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin and John Williams.
The multi-percussionist Martin Grubinger is a true entertainer who elicits a wealth of timbres from his instruments in the Special Edition with film music by John Williams. Arranged by Grubingers father, it is "a percussive musical world journey through John Williams' music", so Martin Grubinger. The arrangement includes themes from "Star Wars", "Indiana Jones", "Harry Potter" and more, all presented in different styles, salsa, tango, funk, fusion, rock, pop, and minimal music by Grubinger and The Percussive Planet Ensemble together with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Wayne Marshall.

Wayne Marshall debuts as a conductor with the orchestra, performing American rhythms and music by Leonard Bernstein and a very special "Rhapsody in Blue" by Gershwin.
With two wonderful encores, Bernstein's overture from "Candide" and - as every year – Paul Lincke's "Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft"...
