Upcoming productions at MusikTheater an der Wien
Big excitement at the MusikTheater an der Wien for Norma, Briefe von Ruth, Heisse Luft and two TaWow workshops.
The MusikTheater an der Wien has gone into full production mode, with the last performance of Das Spitzentuch der Königin on 28 January. On 30 January, our new event series ‘Da Capo’ takes place in the Hölle, where our casting director and deputy artistic director Peter Heilker invites you to a discussion with KS Sigrid Martikke and KS Harald Serafin.
On 7 February we continue with the sold-out concert Heisse Luft in the Hölle - a whistling concert with Nikolaus Habjan and Ines Schüttengruber.
For our young MusikTheater fans two TaWow workshops on 15 February at the Theater an der Wien offer the chance to sing, move, and get creative together. Workshops are at 11:00 for children aged 4+ with an accompanying person and at 14:00 for children aged 7+ without accompaniment.
On 16 February our long-awaited Norma by Vincenzo Bellini premieres - a gripping story of love, betrayal, and ideological upheaval. Directed by Vasily Barkhatov, this masterpiece features star soprano Asmik Grigorian in the title role.
On 24 February the chamber musical Briefe von Ruth by Gisle Kverndokk premieres at the Kammeroper. Inspired by Ruth Maier's life, this award-winning production tells the moving story of a young Jewish woman whose dreams and love are shattered by the horrors of the Nazi regime.
Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at +43 (0)1 58885-111, or at the box offices at Theater an der Wien and the Wien Ticket Pavilion next to the Vienna State Opera.
