Tomorrow’s Musicians Today: Young Euro Classic
We celebrate 25 Years of Young Euro Classic!
Quite a bit has happened during 25 years, but the motivation of the festival remains the same: Tomorrow’s Musicians Today! Often considered as the “Bayreuth of the younger generation” (Berliner Morgenpost), Young Euro Classic is the world’s most important platform for young orchestra musicians in the European classic music tradition – always with an open ear for resounding culture outside of Europe. Each summer, orchestras from around the globe perform at Berlin’s Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt. In August, we recorded six concert highlights:
19 August: O/Modernt New Generation Orchestra (Nordic and Baltic Countries) with Hugo Ticciati, conductor
20 August: Angelika Prokopp Sommerakademie of the Vienna Philharmonic (International) with Sebastian Weigle, conductor and Julia Hagen, cello
21 August: European Union Youth Orchestra (EU) with Gianandrea Noseda, conductor and Nicolas Altstaedt, violoncello
23 August: Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem de Goiás (Brazil) with Eliel Ferreira, conductor and Guido Sant'Anna, violin
24 August: Eurasian Student Symphony Orchestra of the Kazakh National (Kazakhstan) with Yerbolat Akhmedyarov, conductor, Karina Izmailova, piano and SHABYT Dombra Ensemble
25 August: MIAGI Orchestra (South Africa) with David Panzl, conductor and Anders Paulsson soprano saxophone & composer
The programmes are now in postproduction and a highlight selection will be soon available for distribution. For further information, please get in contact with the EuroArts team: musicdistribution@euroarts.com.
