This was the IMZ Academy 2020 on higher music education
The online IMZ Academy 2020 “The Complete Performer of the Future – Embracing Media Skills in Music Education” established the importance of media skills for the next generation of musicians.
What kind of skills beyond musical excellence do classical performers need to thrive in our ever-increasing digital world and how can these be trained by Conservatoires?
This IMZ Academy 2020 “The Complete Performer of the Future – Embracing Media Skills in Music Education” took place in cooperation with the Music + Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) + supported by the AEC – Association Européenne des Conservatoires in the course of a 1-day-online-workshop.
Among the 30 participants from 16 countries were management staff and professors of higher music education institutions + universities, who explored together with 7 leading experts how the music education of the future should adapt its syllabus to prepare students effectively for the opportunities + challenges of the digital realm.
After the workshop all participants were invited to network + get to know each other over virtual drinks!
The IMZ wants to thank its partners from the Music + Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) and the AEC – Association Européenne des Conservatoires for their support.
Another huge thank you goes to all participants and experts from the Conservatoire of The Hague, Conservatoires UK Student Network and Royal College of Music London as well as star violinist Yury Revich for sharing their invaluable insights and making this Academy a great success!
