Shining Moments: Reflecting on Sunny Side of the Doc 2023
Embracing the future of documentary filmmaking: Sunny Side of the Docs 2023 bids adieu
19-22 June 2023
La Rochelle, France
The Sunny Side of the Doc 2023 was an invigorating event that brought together professionals and enthusiasts from the global documentary industry. Unfolding at the idyllic shores of La Rochelle the event connected the industry:
More than 2,000 participants met with decision makers and people from in and around the ecosystem. They established new contacts, explored new trends, discovered new talent, acquired content and felt the pulse of the entire global documentary community.
From captivating panel discussions and thought-provoking sessions to inspiring pitches and collaborative projects, Sunny Side of the Doc 2023 showcased the sunny side of the documentary world.
Providing expert guidance for the presenting teams in the runup, the festival ensured captivating outcomes in the pitching sessions. Definitely one of the highlights of the fair.
As a proud partner, the IMZ could showcase its commitment to the performing arts, by presenting the IMZ Cultural Award to the deserving pitch Fatma Said - Reviving a forgotten Treasure from 3B-Produktion. A company we are proud to say is part of the IMZ community.
The winners were awarded the prize money as well as a festival pass at the Avant Première Music + Media Market Berlin. All pitchers also received day passes to next year’s AP!
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Philippe Drago, Marion Camus, and Silvia De Felice for their invaluable contribution as jurors! Their expertise and eye for detail greatly enriched the weight of the award.
The IMZ left the Sunny Side of the Doc. With a heavy heart and enriched memories we would like to thank the organizers and everyone involved. As we reflect on the fruitful collaboration and the success of Sunny Side of the Doc 2023,
we simultaneously would like to gratulate all the great pitchers and productions.
We are looking forward to greet you all and to highlight your talent at the Avant Premiere 2024 in Berlin!
