Across three highly entertaining episodes, The Way We Wore interrogates the invention and evolution of consumer culture, the power of the media in influencing cultural identity, and the role of fashion in pushing for social change.
The series is brimming with rich archival material and deeply personal interviews with Australian fashion icons including Akira Isogawa, Catherine Martin and Charlee Fraser. It includes key moments in fashion history, like Christian Dior choosing Australia as the first place outside Paris to present his new collection, and Helmut Newton establishing himself as a photography icon.
With Celeste Barber at the helm, there are also lots of laughs along the way as the series lays bare why fashion matters.
