The new season with the Czech Philharmonic has started: for the Opening Concert on 26 September, the orchestra welcomed Charles Dutoit and Daniil Trifonov. In October Magdalena Kožená and Giovanni Antonini will meet for a Mozart and Beethoven evening (18 October, 19:30, live).

Season Opening with Charles Dutoit and Daniil Trifonov
Joining the Orchestra for the 129th season opening concert is a pianist who is truly among today’s most sought-after artists: Daniil Trifonov, who is this season’s artist-in-residence, will perform Dvořák’s Piano Concerto for the first time in Prague. He will later join the orchestra on tour as part of Czech Week at New York’s Carnegie Hall in December, marking the culmination of the Year of Czech Music 2024. The second part of the evening features an emblematic work of the Romantic era: Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.

Giovanni Antonini and Magdalena Kožená play Mozart and Beethoven
For regular concert goers, it’s only natural for past musical experiences to sometimes merge with one another or even be forgotten. This shouldn’t be the case with the following two extraordinary artists who regularly perform with the Czech Philharmonic: Magdalena Kožená, who brings artistic refinement, technical perfection, and vocal colour to everything she does; and Giovanni Antonini who brings thrilling Italian temperament to his authentic interpretations of early music.

More concerts will be recorded in the 2024/25 season, stay in touch with EuroArts.
