For the first time, ORF III is showing a live broadcast from the Vienna Volksoper, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2018.

Peter Lund, among other things known for his award-winning "Axel an der Himmelstür", also performed at the Vienna Volksoper, will stage the operetta "Die Csárdásfürstin" by Emmerich Kálmán.

Sylvia Varescu is a celebrated stage star. The nobleman Edwin von und zu Lippert-Weylersheim is desperately in love with her, but a nobleman must not get involved with a chansonnière. Edwin's parents have already arranged an engagement with his cousin Stasi... .
