The world famous opera set against the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage village of Holašovice.

The South Bohemian Theatre presents this iconic masterpiece of Czech opera in the unique surroundings of the farmsteads of Holašovice, a site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This typical South Bohemian village has preserved its 19th century “Folk Baroque” architecture, making it an entirely authentic setting for the adventurous courtship of Mařenka and Jeník.

Affectionate humour, rustic cleverness, openness – and above all Smetana’s superb music. This is The Bartered Bride, a work everyone is bound to love. The leading roles are performed by top Czech singers, joined by the choir, orchestra and ballet company of the South Bohemian Theatre, as well as the children’s choir Jitřenka.

Experience the unforgettable summer atmosphere on the village square in the South Bohemian village of Holašovice.
