Sunny Side of the Doc rolls out online pitches
The 2020 edition will include online pitches and a new submission fee of 90€ in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Submit your documentary works by 16 April!
In the wake of the global pandemic and just a few months ahead of its next edition, Sunny Side of the Doc organizers are preparing the necessary reconfiguration of the international marketplace event scheduled for 22 to 25 June in La Rochelle (France) with digital alternatives.
A key Sunny Side mission is to promote international coproductions, and the recent of our joint pitching event held at Avant Première 2020 really managed again to boost performing arts documentaries.
Sunny Side of the Doc’s annual call for projects and pitching sessions are a highly-coveted platform for presenting fresh ideas to buyers and commissioners from the channels and platforms. To this end, the event’s 2020 edition will guarantee and arrange, through an online solution, the holding of pitches and one-to-one meetings for the 36 most exciting documentary projects in 6 categories: History, Science, Social Issues, Arts & Culture, Wildlife and Digital Experiences.
Content producers and creators can now submit a pitch for a 90€ fee until 16 April 2020. This special offer is valid until April 16, 2020, in line with the submission deadline.
The documentary ecosystem is currently losing the face-to-face meetings that are crucial to source quality content, share ideas, pitch projects, sell programs, foster coproduction and distribution opportunities, drive business and most importantly, maintain relationships.
Time has come to stand in community in order to come out stronger on the other side!
