When he was in Algiers, Camille Saint-Saëns would discreetly go to cafés of the Casbah to listen to Arab musicians, as he did in Alexandria and Ismailia. In response to these inspired musical compositions, the Divertimento Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zahia Ziouani also presents traditional music from Algeria, a country whose cultural diversity and musical richness he was particularly fond of.

On this occasion, the Amedyez Ensemble, led by violinist Rachid Brahim Djelloul, is invited to join the Divertimento Symphony Orchestra to immerse us in the sounds and classical music of Algeria, which strongly influenced Camille Saint-Saëns.

Welcome to the heart of this immersion in the universe of Camille-Saint-Saëns, the great Mediterranean traveler!
