Rossini Opera Festival – La Cambiale di Matrimonio
A small operatic gem and an outstanding ensemble mark the latest production from the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
Gioachino Rossini wrote “La cambiale di matrimonio” (Marriage by Promissory Note) as his first professional opera when he was 18 years old. It was a great success and paved the way to hits like “La Cenerentola” and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”. With beautiful melodies and lively parlando style, the comic opera tells the fight between a greedy old man and his daughter until she finally can marry the man of her heart.
The excellent young cast makes this operatic gem shine in enchanting colours. This year’s production is a wonderful complement of Unitel’s extensive cooperation with ROF in Pesaro.
