In 2024, the awards received over 750 entries from more than 30 countries, and now Europe’s premier TV and Audio Awards are gearing up for the 64th extraordinary year.

The Rose d’Or and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) are delighted to announce that one of the UK and Ireland’s favourite comedians and TV presenters Dara Ó Briain, will host this year’s Rose d’Or Awards.

The Award Ceremony will take place on Monday 1 December 2025 at King’s Place in London.

Dara Ó BriainDara Ó Briain is best known for hosting the BBC’s Mock the Week, Robot Wars, Three Men in a Boat, Dara and Ed’s Great Big Adventure, Stargazing Live, Dara Ó Briain’s Science Club, the documentary Dara Ó Briain Meets Stephen Hawking and more recently Volcano for Channel 5.

Dara Ó Briain said: “I am very excited to acclaim the greatest television makers in the world; give them a prize and then pitch my new series about a mumbling comedian who solves a murder in each town he tours. It’s called “Don’t Die on Stage!” and I have some ideas for casting too.”

Jean Philip De Tender, Director Media & Deputy Director General, EBU said: “Last year’s Rose d’Or awards reminded us once again how powerful television and audio programming can be – from exposing hard truths to offering moments of pure joy. It’s fantastic to have Dara on board as host for 2025; his sharp humour and perspective will set the tone for a memorable celebration. I’m also looking forward to discovering this year’s standout entries and honouring the creativity and dedication driving our industry forward.”

Mark Rowland, Chair, Rose d’Or Awards said: “2024 was another superb year for original quality programmes, with close decisions in all categories; major awards went to Belgium, Norway, Italy, Japan and Australia and the UK.
