The Russian State Music Television and Radio Centre and its Orpheus Radio are going to launch the first national digital media platform Orpheus orpheus.ru. This project will be the first aggregator of classical music content in the country.
The platform will provide its Russian audience with the following products: "Concerts", "Ballets", "Operas", "Children only" and "Films" (documentaries dedicated to classical music). Eventually, we plan to expand the audience by creating the platform’s English version and releasing new products: "Old Gold", "Masterclasses" and "Conversations about music".
At the beginning of the project, the platform’s content will be available to the Russian audience only. The launch of the platform is to be held back-to-back with the date of Orpheus Radio's 30th anniversary.
Orpheus Radio holds a special place in the Russian broadcasting 'world'. This is the country’s unique radio station where only classical music is on air, while exactly this kind of music is one of the most important spheres of Russian culture.
Orpheus Radio is a member of the European Broadcasting Union and with the help of the Euroradio system, which allows broadcasting on the waves of other radio stations in the world, introduces its programs to an audience of 600 million people.
