New IMZ Member: Verbier Festival
A warm welcome to the Verbier Festival, one of the world’s leading classical music festivals and a key platform for artistic excellence, education, and international exchange.
The Verbier Festival is one of the world’s most prestigious classical music festivals, held every summer in the Swiss Alpine village of Verbier. Founded in 1994 by Martin Engstroem, the festival has become a major international gathering for leading musicians and emerging talents, attracting audiences from across the globe.
The 2026 edition, from July 16 to August 2 will offer more than 60 concerts, 100 masterclasses, and 80 free events. In 2026, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra will also celebrate its 20th anniversary, highlighting its role as a global ambassador for the festival. Leading conductors, soloists, and singers perform alongside young musicians from the Verbier Festival Academy and orchestras, creating a unique blend of excellence and mentorship.
A defining feature of the festival is its strong commitment to education. Its Academy and Orchestra programs provide outstanding young artists with training and guidance from some of the greatest musicians and it helped launch the careers of many internationally acclaimed artists such as Yuja Wang, Daniel Lozakovich or Khatia Buniatishvili.
In line with its mission of excellence and exchanges, the world’s leading conductors, soloists, and singers come to Verbier each summer to perform, drawing more than 30,000 festivalgoers on-site and 2.3 million views online viewers from 154 countries.
Combining world-class performances with a strong commitment to nurturing the next generation, the Verbier Festival has become a landmark in the global classical music scene.
