Lisiecki & Pappano live at the Semperoper
Jan Lisiecki, Antonio Pappano and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden live at the Semperoper.
Antonio Pappano, is known for a conducting style which doesn‘t impose the need of any soloist having to battle to be heard against the orchestra. This is especially noteworthy, when having soloist such as Jan Lisiecki, whom the New York Times has called “a pianist who makes every note count“.
Pappano together with Lisiecki and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden are presenting two works with particular relevance for Dresden: Schumann‘s piano concerto, which was premiered on the 4th of September 1845 at Dresden‘s Hôtel de Saxe and Rachmaninoff‘s Symphony No. 2, which was written during the composer‘s Dresden years at the Saxon residency.
