Juan Diego Flórez: New IMZ Honorary Member
The IMZ is proud to announce that renowned opera tenor Juan Diego Flórez is a new Honorary Member. We thank our IMZ member Vienna State Opera and its director Dominique Meyer for the possibility to handing the certificate over to Mister Flórez on the occasion of an artist´s talk in Vienna – and talking with him about the importance of audio-visual media for the performing arts and his project Sinfonía por el Perú.
Juan Diego Flórez' personality, artistic versatility, and prolific professional career serves as a profound inspiration and as an example of extraordinary quality to many. It goes without saying that, with his dedication to as well as keen sense for music, combined with his openness he is an unparalleled example of a mediator – be it between musicians, nations, or generations.
His impressing project, the Sinfonía por el Perú, focussing on personal and artistic development of young people through the power of music exemplifies your success not only as a great musician but also as a man of sympathy and vision.
So, among many other things, it is his musical experience just as much as the enormous engagement of Juan Diego Flórez‘ in connection with his endeavours for a better youth education and international understanding that makes the IMZ proud and happy to call him one of our honorary members. Taking all his achievements we are sure that, together with other honorary members like Daniel Barenboim, Anne Sofie von Otter, Mats Ek or Lang Lang to name just a few, he would not only support the IMZ mission of fostering the arts but would also certainly encourage the artistic community worldwide, as well as the industry linked to it, to continue with their work in an unbowed way.
