Joy Denalane - Sound-Treck Europe
Joy Denalane on a road trip discovering the music of Europe.
In search for musical answers to current socio-political questions, soul musician Joy Denalane embarks on a journey through Europe and discovers the world of folk music.
The pilot episode takes place in Austria and explores the country’s musical tradition which has much more to offer than zithers and hammered dulcimers, alphorns and accordions, as well as a lone yodeler somewhere in the Alps. Discovering Mahler’s roots in Austria, Joy gets lost to the world with a pure traditional music band in Tyrol and Toblach, encounters young and wild folk musicians from FEDERSPIEL and ALMA and jams with the legend of Viennese Song ROLAND NEUWIRTH.
