Joana Mallwitz – Conductress
Accentus Music is making the first documentary film about the exceptional young conductress Joana Mallwitz.
"I'm a sensitive type," says Joana Mallwitz. "That's also the reason why I was warned not to become a conductress. In front of an orchestra, you have to be tough, use your elbows, and also be able to put on a show. I always thought to myself, 'I can only be who I am.' If it doesn't work, then I just won't get very far.'"
Today, only 35 years old, Joana Mallwitz has already come a long way. The preliminary highlight of her international career was her double debut in 2021 with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Salzburg Festival. And her schedule for the next few years is already packed to the brim.
The documentary JOANA MALLWITZ – CONDUCTRESS (WT) documents the eventful period leading up to her appointment at the Konzerthausorchester in Berlin, where she will succeed Christoph Eschenbach in the fall of 2023. This exclusive and comprehensive film tells the story of a thoroughbred musician who was celebrated early on as a child prodigy and is now entering the decisive phase of her international career.
A film about the intoxicating power of music and the meticulous work of a conductress in a leadership position.
