For the first time in its history, the Sydney Opera House has allowed cameras to go behind-the-scenes to reveal what it takes to run one of the world's busiest and most iconic performing arts centres.

Narrated by Marta Düsseldorp, whose Dutch grandfather was involved in the construction of the Jørn Utzon-designed architectural marvel, the series shines a spotlight on the people beneath the sails.

From Bluey concerts to Simone Young conducting the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, contemporary music gigs and the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks, viewers are given front row seats to see how the magic is made (and what happens when a seal turns up on the doorstep).

The series also showcases fascinating stories about the Opera House’s history and upkeep, including the effort required to maintain the 1,056,006 Swedish-made tiles that cover its glorious sails.
