IMZ at Golden Prague ITF 2020
Although the IMZ couldn’t physically attend the festival this year, the great collaboration between the IMZ, the Golden Prague ITF and the EBU continued to thrive.
Covid-19 is affecting all of us in various ways this year. One of the impacts it had on the IMZ was hindering its stafff and members to physically attend the Golden Prague ITF this year. But this fact didn’t stop us from a fruitful collaboration, as it has been for many years now!
Connected online, all important formats that were planned could still be executed effectively.
On Wednesday, 23 September, the EBU-IMZ Panel “The role of public service TV in the post-Covid arts sector” took place. Co-chaired by Matthew Trustram (Head of TV at EBU) + Katharina Jeschke (IMZ Secretary General), this panel invited EBU + IMZ Member broadcasters as well as performing arts institutions to discuss the role of broadcasters in supporting the post-covid arts sector.
On Thurday, 24 September, the IMZ held its Directorate Meeting via zoom, and one day later on 25 September, the IMZ Board Meeting was held the same way. These important meetings have been a part of the Golden Prague ITF for years and 2020 was no different!
And finally on Saturday, 26 September, the official Awards Ceremony took place on-site at The New Stage of the National Theatre with a great amount of people watching it online via livestream. During this, the EBU-IMZ Lifetime Achievement Award was presented. Christopher Nupen was the one being honoured with it this year.
Overall, we are really happy und deeply grateful for our great partnership with the Golden Prague International Television Festival and the EBU, a collaboration that even a crisis like Covid-19 cannot compromise.
