"Hollywood in Vienna” is an annual gala concert celebrating classic and current masterpieces of film music and honouring each year one of today’s leading film music composer. The music of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY leads us to outer space and makes us experience its infinite dimension. INTERSTELLAR, between the stars, we enter the infamous, global STAR WARS and are rescued by STAR TREK's spaceship »Enterprise«, leading us to faraway musical galaxies, where no man has gone, before. We get in CONTACT with extraterrestrials, GRAVITY pulls us back to earth and, finally, we fulfill E.T.'s wish, to phone home. The second part of the concert is dedicated to the Oscar-, Golden Globe and Grammy winner Alexandre Desplat. His atmospheric melodies for HARRY POTTER, TWILIGHT, THE KING’S SPEECH, THE IMITATION GAME and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL amongst others let us virtually float through the universe.
