Gabriela Montero in Chile
Accentus Music is documenting a very special concert event from southern Chile.
The Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero won a Latin Grammy last year for the recording of her first composition “Expatria”. The work was performed under the direction of the Mexican conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto together with the pan-American youth orchestra YOA, which is comprised of music students from Central and Latin America.
With the same ensemble, Gabriela Montero is now performing her latest composition, her second piano concerto, the “Latin Concerto”. The performance will take place in Frutillar’s Teatro del Lago, located in the middle of the Patagonian plains.
