Filming Begins on The Ring’s Power
'Richard Wagner – The Ring’s Power' starts shooting in Switzerland, where the composer’s life and legacy left a lasting cultural mark.
We’ve started filming! Our new documentary Richard Wagner – The Ring’s Power begins its journey in Switzerland – where crucial years of his life and creative work were shaped. In Zürich and Lucerne, Wagner composed, sought refuge, and envisioned his musical future.
But Wagner's legacy reaches far beyond the Alps. His influence is everywhere: from blockbuster films to comic books, from advertising to gaming – and even outer space, where 19th-century astronomers named asteroids after Ring characters – his cultural footprint is unmistakable. And to this day, no other composer has inspired the construction of a dedicated festival hall.
For nearly 150 years, Bayreuth has drawn audiences from around the world. At the same time, Wagner's presence in pop culture has remained constant, sparking fascination and controversy alike.
Our documentary sets out to explore: How did this monumental work come into being? How has it been received – then and now? And what drives people to dedicate their lives to Wagner's world?
"Richard Wagner – The Ring’s Power" seeks answers: multi-layered, accessible, and attuned to a work that still challenges and inspires today.
