Felix Klieser On Tour With Mozart
The film accompanies the world class hornist without arms Felix Klieser on a tour through southern England with Mozart’s 4th Horn Concerto.
Felix Klieser has been playing the French horn for 27 years - without arms. It was his childhood dream to play the horn concertos by W.A. Mozart. Now he performs them in small and large concert halls in southern England with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He is the first German horn player to be appointed the orchestra’s Artist in Residence.
The film shows Klieser rehearsing the 4th Horn Concerto in E-flat Major K. 495 in Poole in the south of England. The town is the headquarter of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, a so-called touring orchestra that plays in various concert halls in the south and southwest of England. The next stop on the tour with Felix Klieser is Plymouth.
The days in Great Britain are tightly scheduled for the orchestra and especially for its soloist. In addition to rehearsals and concerts, an interview with the BBC in London and a school visit in Plymouth are planned. In between are long car journeys that create brief moments of relaxation. Finally, Felix Klieser visits the Formula 1 circuit in Silverstone - a highlight for the fan of fast cars. Speed, rhythm, precision - skills that both musicians and racing drivers need to be successful.
