Fedora Digital Prize 2020: Discover the winning project
We are delighted to announce the winner of the first time ever Fedora Digital Prize: Laila - Immersive Installation by Finnish National Opera + Ballet!
Out of four nominees, an independent jury of experts, including the IMZ, awarded the project Laila as the clear winner, visualising a great vision in the field of opera+ballet in the digital!
Laila is an interactive opera experience created by composer Esa-Pekka Salonen, dramaturge Paula Vesala and Ekho Collective. The work makes bold use of new technologies while extending reality into a mesmerising + collaborative experience.
“We create a universe within which things can happen uniquely to you. Depending on what you say, depending on how you move within the space, depending on how you interact with other visitors.” - Esa-Pekka Salonen
The IMZ is proud of the great collaboration with FEDORA, the platform aiming at nurturing European innovation + creativity and at increasing the reach and accessibility of opera + ballet.
The FEDORA Digital Prize intends to encourage artistic innovation in opera + ballet through digital experimentation and to advocate new ways of interactions with audiences through digital tools and performance. Furthermore, the goal is also to trigger new collaborative approaches through digital innovation across different media.
