Fabio Luisi’s farewell from the Opernhaus Zürich
With Bruckner 7, Fabio Luisi bids farewell to the Opernhaus and Philharmonia Zürich after 9 years as music director. Livestream on 19 June 2021.
In his nine years as the General Music Director of the Opernhaus Zürich, Fabio Luisi decisively shaped the musical tone of the house. His Verdi interpretations, his cycle of operas by Vincenzo Bellini and his forays into the symphonic-romantic repertoire are unforgettable. Now Luisi is giving his farewell concert on the rostrum of the Philharmonia Zürich with Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 7. As a tribute to the outgoing music director and since the regulations currently only allow 100 listeners in the auditorium, the concert will be streamed live on the website of the Opernhaus Zürich so that a wide audience gets to experience the musical farewell of this great conductor.
