In 2013 Gustavo Dudamel brought South American temperament and El Sistema to Salzburg and took the hearts of the audience by storm. Since then, it is impossible to imagine the concert stage of the Salzburg Festival without him.

This year, pianist Evgeny Kissin, Salzburg regular ever since his debut in 1987, joins Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic to perform the 1st Piano Concerto by legendary keyboard virtuoso Franz Liszt.

The charismatic conductor pairs it with Stravinsky’s brilliant ballet “L’Oiseau de feu”, the piece that made the Russian composer world-famous overnight. A magnificent concert, precisely conducted, “carried by irrepressible emotion” (Salzburger Nachrichten).
