Donizetti's Don Pasquale from Opernhaus Zürich
Accentus Music will be recording the operatic comedy with an exquisite cast featuring Julie Fuchs on 17 June 2023.
The Opernhaus Zürich production of Donizetti's comedic dramma buffo "Don Pasquale" staged by Christof Loy features an excellent cast of soloists. Dimitris Tiliakos will sing the role of Don Pasquale, an elderly nobleman who wants to marry young Norina, performed by French star soprano Julie Fuchs. But Norina is also the lover of his nephew and, as he will later learn, quite a complicated woman. Charming and comedic mayhem ensues! Christof Loy's staging gives an individuality to all of the characters while at the same time also embodying the melancholy and loneliness of "the last things".
While being performed inside the opera house, "Don Pasquale" will also be broadcast to up to 12.000 viewers outside, seated on chairs and blankets on the Sechseläutenplatz in front of the opera house. Since 2013, the Opernhaus Zürich closes its seasons with a big summer open air, which since 2014 have been produced by Accentus Music.
