Czech Television is finishing a documentary about an exceptional Czech music composer, organist, pianist and university pedagogue and one of the most played Czech music composers of the second half of the twentieth century.

Petr Eben (1929-2007) gained the greatest recognition and international acclaim as the author of organ compositions, but his legacy represents two hundred compositions, choral and song cycles, orchestral and chamber compositions, from simple children's songs to polyphonic vocal-instrumental works on biblical or liturgical themes. His compositions are in the repertoire of amateur choirs and music ensembles. He had lecture tours throughout Europe and the United States. He also won a number of awards: he became a French Knight of Arts and Letters and a recipient of the Czech state award.
