Under the direction of Stefan Plewniak, the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal brings Henry Purcell’s Didon & Enée to life, recounting the tragic love story of Dido and Aeneas. In this stunning production, the majestic Sonya Yoncheva portrays Queen Dido, while Halidou Nombre takes on the role of Aeneas. Directed by Cécile Roussat and Julien Lubek, the staging is a dazzling blend of music, mime, dance, and acrobatics. This captivating fusion of Baroque music and theatrical spectacle is supported by the brilliant young talents of the Académie de l'Opéra Royal, offering a magical and poignant experience at the Opéra Royal in Versailles.
