"Danielsson Double Concerto for cor-anglais and cello/double-bass:
The jazz bass-player and composer Lars Danielsson has written a piece for Gothenburg Symphony’s Björn Bohlin, cor-anglais, with the composer playing a part for cello/double-bass – a truly creative performing musician.
Regarding sounds, rhythms and colours, composers like Debussy and Ravel and innovators such as Gil Evans and Joe Zawinul have made impressions on Lars Danielsson. The Double Concerto is both sensitive and filled with energy (joy!), with an innate ability to captivate the listener."

"Three Places in New England is one of the most popular works by the American composer Charles Ives.
It contains several elements typical of Ives: different melodies played simultaneously, musical quotes and rich chords. The work is a musical picture of American life in the early 20th century, effervescent and vital. This is a listening experience out of the ordinary – Charles Ives the eccentric refused to follow any conventions what-so-ever!"

Adapting to the continuously growing digital realm can be a challenge for a traditional live art like orchestral performances. However, it can also fuel a creative, vitalising re-imagination of the ways in which Orchestras communicate and connect with their audience. This IMZ Academy took place from 29-30 May in Vienna, Austria.
