The filmmaker Cédric Klapisch known for his very successful films as The Spanish Apartment Trilogy and most recently En Corps (Rise) one of most gripping film on dance, will stage and film himself for the screen The Magic Flute at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées in November 2023.

The long journey from childhood to adulthood and from those first adolescent stirrings to true love strikes a clear chord with filmmaker Cédric Klapisch. His first foray into opera allows him to make the transition from family chronicle to rite of passage fable. At the helm of the musicians of Les Siècles is the brilliant François-Xavier Roth, with members of an outstanding generation of contemporary French singers.

To tackle The Magic Flute, Cédric Klapish has opted to view Mozart's masterpiece through the prism of very contemporary issues that touch on both the power of artificial intelligence and our relationship with nature. It promises to be a mindblowing vision of the universal Mozart masterpiece.

Recording dates: 22 and 24 November 2023
