Celebrate Carmen's 150th anniversary with a stunning re-creation of the 1875 original at Versailles—period costumes, sets, and an extraordinary cast!
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Carmen and the death of its composer Georges Bizet, the Royal Opera of Versailles presents an authentic re-creation of its original production of 1875, with period costumes designed by Christian Lacroix, sets based on documents recovered from the French National Library - and Hervé Niquet will conduct the Royal Orchestra on period instruments, offering an experience as close as possible to its premiere. The extraordinary cast includes Adèle Charvet and Éléonore Pancrazi as Carmen, alongside Julien Behr and Kévin Amiel as Don José.
