Bryn Terfel & Friends: Songs of the Sea
Bryn Terfel & Friends: Songs of the Sea - Acapela Studios, Pentyrch
Bryn Terfel returns to his roots in Wales to present a personal exploration of favourite traditional songs of the sea. Joined by close musical friends – including folkband Calan, singer Eve Goodman, harpist Hannah Stone and fiddler Patrick Rimes – for special sessions recorded at the Acapela Studios in Pentyrch, the superstar bass-baritone presents songs from Wales, England and far beyond, which capture the high spirits, the homesickness the optimism and good-humoured hard work of seafaring life. "Welcome to Wales," he says, "this is my home country, and if you're born in Wales, just like the Welsh seafarers of old, you never really leave it."
