“Beethoven Story“ in Bonn
The Beethoven Anniversary Society announced new plans for a Beethoven tour in Bonn, his city of birth.
In autumn 2019, about 22 informational panels will represent the new Beethoven tour in Bonn. The multimedia panels will include videos or inscriptions in six languages and mark the most important stations of Beethoven’s life in the inner city of Bonn as well as in the Rhine-Sieg District.
The Beethoven Anniversary Society, which organizes the Beethoven Anniversary from December 2019 – December 2020, invited proposals from all over Europe and finally chose the firm Müller-Rieger of Munich, that has long experience with multimedia installations in the public space.
„The panels will expand the visitor's spacial experience beyond the particular location,“ said Christian Lorenz, the Artistic Director of the Beethoven Anniversary Society. „We were particularly impressed by the combination of the most novel technology and classic 'markers' of important locations. The panels will impact the city image and can be updated as needed.“
The panels include the letters BTHVN, depicted through mirrors or LED screens, which represent not only Beethoven‘s signature but also the five main themes of the 250th Anniversary Jubilee. The „Beethoven Story“ is the central project of the main theme „Beethoven as Bonn Citizen“.
