The new production of the seventh and penultimate opera by Bedřich Smetana. The libretto whose themes may bring to mind William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is set in a small Czech town and focuses on a feud between the families of the councillors Malina and Kalina. Directed by Ondřej Havelka at the National Theatre in Prague, with musical direction by Robert Jindra. An imaginative and entertaining tribute to Smetana in his anniversary year.
