Beatrice Rana & Mikko Franck in Harmony
0000: Beatrice Rana and Mikko Franck unite for Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich, a night of passion, power, and brilliance at the Festival de Pâques.
After her unforgettable Bach recital in 2017, Italian pianist Beatrice Rana makes a triumphant return to the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence. One of the most captivating artists of her generation, Rana brings her brilliance and depth to Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1n a work once harshly dismissed by the pianist Nikolai Rubinstein, yet now hailed as one of the greatest masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire. Rana, who recorded a stunning version of the concerto in 2015, will once again reveal its fire and lyricism.
She will be joined by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, led by its charismatic conductor Mikko Franck, praised by Le Monde for his “natural authority that draws musicians like moths to the evening light.” Together, they present a concert of striking contrasts and emotions: Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, a monumental work of darkness, intensity, and raw power, followed by Tchaikovsky’s concerto, a celebration of virtuosity and passion.
A rare evening where orchestral brilliance and pianistic mastery ignite in a breathtaking musical dialogue between shadow and light.
