Young Baroque violin prodigy Théotime Langlois de Swarte takes the helm of the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal for the first time in an exceptional concert.
Théotime Langlois de Swarte, a young Baroque violin prodigy, takes the helm of the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal for the first time in an exceptional concert featuring Bach's famous violin concertos. He is also the first Baroque violinist to be nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2020, in recognition of his work with several Baroque ensembles, including Les Arts Florissants and Les Ombres.
This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy Bach's concertos for one, two and three violins, masterpieces of the genre and of the late Baroque, combining virtuosity and expressive singing, thus paying tribute to the German composer. At the age of thirty-two, Bach was the master of music at the Court of Köthen, where he provided the most splendid instrumental music. With an orchestra of virtuoso soloists at his disposal, he composed his violin concertos to dazzle the Prince he served: mission accomplished with brio!
