Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas wins Czech Crystal for Best Documentary Program and is nominated for an International Emmy for Arts Programming!
Riddle Films’ musical documentary Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas won the coveted Czech Crystal for Best Documentary Program from the Golden Prague Television Festival on September 22nd. This was followed by an International Emmy Award nomination for Arts Programming to be given out on November 19 in New York.
Directed by Larry Weinstein (Inside Hana’s Suitcase, Leslie Caron: The Reluctant Star), Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas tells the story of Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Gloria Shayne Baker and the many Jewish composers who wrote some of the best-loved Christmas songs of all time. It was produced by Riddle Films in association with Kobalt Productions and originally aired on CBC, The Documentary Channel, NDR, ARTE, SVT, RSI, YLE and NRK.
