Award-winning dance films now available from Naxos

Lumikinos Production and Naxos Audiovisual have announced a distribution agreement for the dance films Cold Storage, Rooted with Wings and Fram.

Lumikinos Production and Naxos Audiovisual have announced a distribution agreement for the films Cold Storage, Rooted with Wings and Fram. The films are available for worldwide licensing on all media through Naxos.

With its unique blend of wordless storytelling and deadpan Nordic comedy, Cold Storage (9 min, 2016) is one of the most wildly popular and acclaimed dance short films of all time. To date, the film has been seen at over 300 festivals worldwide and it has received more than 40 awards. In the film, a lonely ice fisherman discovers his prehistoric counterpart frozen in the sea ice, and thaws him out as his newfound soul brother.

Rooted with Wings (53 min, 2018) is a documentary exploring the work of internationally acclaimed Finnish choreographer and dancer Tero Saarinen, featuring stunningly captured dance sequences and behind-the-scenes material from around the globe.

Fram (51/28 min, 2019) is a unique documentary and travel film about the parallels between artistic and geographic exploration. Two friends travel to the end of the earth in order to make a dance film in the polar wilderness of Svalbard. In Fram, filmmakers Thomas Freundlich and Valtteri Raekallio take the viewer on an engaging journey to a place where few have been and even fewer have danced.
