Avant Première 2024: Three more Weeks to Curtain up
In just three weeks, Berlin's Avant Première 2024 will showcase over 500 music and dance films. Attendees can expect exclusive screenings, star-studded events, and unique networking opportunities at the global performing arts fair.
Every year in mid-February, Berlin rolls out its red carpets, and transforms into the capital of media and film. A significant contributor to the city's cinematic fervour is Avant Première, the international marketplace and networking event for performing arts video content.
This one-of-a-kind fair combines a comprehensive screening and conference program with valuable networking opportunities and industry insights. It offers pitching opportunities and one-on-one sessions with major decision-makers, along with celebrity appearances.
The Screenings at Avant Première provide an exclusive preview of over 500 of the latest music and dance films. These include, among others, documentaries, artist portraits, and live recordings. Major market players like ARTE, C Major, RTP - Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, RAI, and many others present their productions to potential buyers, co-producers, and financiers. The 2024 edition will feature a diverse range of participants, with over 60 companies from all over the globe, including Latvia, Australia, Brazil, and Japan.
Our Market Screenings offer attendees the exclusive opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of musical and dance productions. Unlike the showcases, these Screenings are intended to provide a more profound and intimate experience, giving each production a full hour to leave their mark on the audience. Some of the highlights include the ballet "Kaguyahime", presented by NHK, and a new production of "Die Fledermaus", presented by Naxos.
One of the most anticipated programme points each year, are the Special Screenings. Taking place in the evening, they add a glamorous touch by inviting the stars of their productions and hosting a chic reception afterward. This year, visitors of Avant Première can expect to encounter stars such as the soprano superstar Sonya Yoncheva, ground-breaking director Jonas Åkerlund, fado chanteuse extraordinaire Gisela João and many more.
What sets Avant Première apart is not just its commitment to showcasing the latest cultural content but also its dedication to cultivating an environment where creativity, commerce, and technology intersect. Each year, participants have the opportunity to engage in conferences, panels, and one-on-one meetings with influential buyers, and movers + shakers of the industry.
This year's Innovation Day will focus on new technologies + innovative formats in the arts. Selected market players + global visionaries will showcase state-of-the-art projects, addressing the burning issues that affect the industry, such as the rapid advancement of AI and its place in our field.
Avant Première will take place from 17-21 February 2024 at Hotel Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz.
